SIGNED PRINTS       Portofino, a contemporary digital fine art painting, of a colorful seaside village in italy. A fishing village on the Italian Riviera and a well known visitor's resort; a half-moon shaped seaside village with pastel houses lining the shore of the harbor. The village is mentioned in a diploma from 986 by Adelaide of Italy, which assigned it to the nearby Abbey of San Fruttuoso di Capodimonte. In 1171, together with the neighbouring Santa Margherita Ligure, it was included in Rapallo's commune jurisdiction. After 1229 it was part of the Republic of Genoa. The town's natural harbour supported a fleet of fishing boats, but was somewhat too cramped....

Along with Lucerne, the three other forest cantons of Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden formed the "eternal" Swiss Confederacy, [in 1332].      Later the cities of Zürich, Zug and Bern joined the alliance. With the help of these additions, the rule of Austria over the area came to an end."

I've always liked to paint portrait-style "people" and groups "ourselves", usually of people I know, and not by commission ... I like impressionist motifs, but prefer my own more modern painting style, often using thin paints to let the underlying light and colors shine through .
